Attackers disguised as Amazon workers beat man, 66, with sledgehammer-type weapon: report

Two men disguised as Amazon delivery employees reportedly beat a 66-year-old Savannah, Georgia, pub owner nearly to death with a sledgehammer-esque weapon on the morning of Jan. 11, according to police and local reports.

The two suspects, wearing the company's signature blue jackets with the Amazon logo and carrying a cardboard box, knocked on the man's front door around 8 a.m.

They allegedly proceeded to attack him with the weapon for nearly eight minutes, as WTOC first reported.

In security camera footage shared by the Savannah Police Department on their website, the two perpetrators can be seen slowly approaching the man's door in the 500 block of Price Street, wearing ski masks that cover their faces. The victim can then be heard crying out for help.

His neighbors arrived soon after and found the 66-year-old man with multiple head wounds. The victim received 14 stitches and is continuing to recover from the surprise attack, according to WTOC.

MAN AVOIDS PROSECUTION FOR FIGHTING BACK AGAINST MIGRANT SUBWAY ATTACK, FATALLY STABBING 1

The perpetrators fled the scene after the attack with $80 stolen from the victim, the outlet reported.

An Amazon spokesperson told Fox News Digital that based on the company's internal investigation, it can confirm the individuals seen in the video were not making a scheduled delivery for Amazon.

The spokesperson added that Amazon monitors the Internet regularly for unauthorized Amazon apparel and demands that those items are removed when and where possible. People who make deliveries on behalf of Amazon do not routinely knock on doors nor ask customers to sign for packages unless already prearranged, the spokesperson noted.

Savannah police are actively investigating the attack and still looking for the two suspects.

"Contact SPD if you happened to see two people dressed as Amazon workers in the area around the time of the incident," SPD said in a statement on Facebook. "You can contact us via CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app."

Melania Trump, Amazon partner to release new film about her life in theaters worldwide

Amazon Prime has exclusively licensed a documentary film for global theatrical and streaming release that will give viewers an "unprecedented behind-the-scenes look" at First Lady Melania Trump's life, Fox News Digital has learned.

Fox News Digital has learned that the project is expected to be released globally in theaters and for streaming use in the second half of 2025.

Filming for the upcoming documentary began in December 2024. The documentary will be executive produced by First Lady Melania Trump and Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media, with Brett Ratner of RatPac Entertainment serving as director.

Prime Video is expected to share more details on the project as filming progresses, and will release plans when finalized, Fox News Digital has learned.

MELANIA TRUMP TO RELEASE 'COLLECTOR'S EDITION' OF MEMOIR FEATURING IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHED BY FORMER FIRST LADY

"We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world," an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement.

The announcement comes just weeks before Mrs. Trump will return to the White House as first lady of the United States of America.

It also comes months after the release of her first-ever book, "Melania." The memoir presents an intimate portrait of Melania Trump and includes personal stories and family photos she had not previously shared with the public.

"Melania" has been at the top of the New York Times’ best-selling list since its release to the public.

MELANIA TRUMP LAUNCHES 'ON THE MOVE' DIGITAL PHOTO SERIES HIGHLIGHTING HER 'FAST-MOVING LIFE'

In November, just days after President-elect Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States, Mrs. Trump also rolled out a digital photography series to highlight her life on the 2024 campaign trail and at home.

Trump told Fox News Digital in an interview last year that if she had the privilege to serve as first lady again — which she will, beginning on Jan. 20, 2025 — she would continue to prioritize initiatives focused on the well-being and development of children to ensure they have the "support and resources they need to reach their full potential."

"My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow and thrive," she said.

During the first Trump administration, Mrs. Trump hosted virtual roundtables on foster care as part of her "Be Best" initiative and focused on strengthening the child welfare system. She worked with members of Congress on legislation that secured funding for grants awarded to youth and young adults currently or formerly in foster care to help pay for college, career school or training. The bill ultimately was signed by then-President Donald Trump in December 2020.

Since leaving the White House, the former first lady has also created special edition Non-Fungible Tokens. A portion of those proceeds also went toward her initiative "Fostering the Future" to secure educational opportunities and scholarships for children in the foster care community.

"Fostering the Future" students are currently enrolled in multiple colleges and universities across the country, with areas of focus primarily on technology and computer sciences.

"Writing my memoir has been an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows," Mrs. Trump told Fox News Digital last year. "Each story shaped me into who I am today."

She said that "although daunting at times, the process has been incredibly rewarding, reminding me of my strength, and the beauty of sharing my truth."

Washington Post cartoonist quits after paper pulls her cartoon depicting Post owner Bezos groveling to Trump

A Washington Post cartoonist announced that she had quit the paper this week because it rejected her cartoon of Amazon founder and Post owner Jeff Bezos groveling to President-elect Trump.

Post editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes wrote on her Substack page Friday that she was resigning from the outlet, accusing it of spiking the cartoon because it was critical of the billionaire.

In the article, "Why I’m Quitting the Washington Post," Telnaes said, "I have had editorial feedback and productive conversations—and some differences—about cartoons I have submitted for publication, but in all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at. Until now."

WASHINGTON POST REPORTS LIBERALS ARE CANCELING SUBSCRIPTIONS OVER PAPER'S DECISION NOT TO ENDORSE VP HARRIS

The cartoonist shared a rough draft of the unpublished cartoon, which depicted Bezos and other unspecified wealthy businessmen genuflecting and holding up bags of money to the incoming president. Prostrating on the floor next to them was Mickey Mouse, apparently a representation of Disney’s supposed subservience to Trump.

Telnaes explained her drawing, stating, "The cartoon that was killed criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump."

Despite a prickly relationship between the two over the years, Bezos has expressed support for Trump following his 2024 election victory. In the wake of Election Day, the Amazon owner told reporters he was "very optimistic" about Trump’s regulatory agenda.

Bezos recently pledged to donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. He also had dinner with the incoming president at his Mar-a-Lago residence in December.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS DOESN'T MENTION ABC NEWS SETTLEMENT WITH TRUMP'S DEFAMATION LAWSUIT ON HIS SUNDAY SHOW

Bezos also made liberals, including Post staff, irate just ahead of the election by making the decision that the paper would not be making a presidential endorsement.

Other prominent tech moguls have met with Trump in the months following his win, including Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Telnaes’ Disney reference appears to be a dig at the company being cited as a factor behind ABC News’ recent $15 million settlement with Trump earlier this month.

In her Substack piece, Telnaes continued to proclaim her belief that the Post squashed the cartoon because of its political point. She wrote, "To be clear, there have been instances where sketches have been rejected or revisions requested, but never because of the point of view inherent in the cartoon’s commentary. That’s a game changer…and dangerous for a free press."

"As an editorial cartoonist, my job is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable. For the first time, my editor prevented me from doing that critical job. So I have decided to leave the Post," she added.

However, The Washington Post Editorial Page editor David Shipley – who admitted to making the decision to spike it himself – denied her accusation that The Post killed the cartoon for political reasons, saying in a recent statement that he did it to avoid "repetition" of a story.

He said, "Not every editorial judgment is a reflection of a malign force. My decision was guided by the fact that we had just published a column on the same topic as the cartoon and had already scheduled another column — this one a satire — for publication. The only bias was against repetition."

Telnaes has not yet responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Fox News Digital’s Aubrie Spady and Aislinn Murphy contributed to this report.

Billionaires cozy up to Trump with seven-figure inaugural donations after past feuds with incoming president

Companies that previously feuded with President-elect Trump are now making seven-figure donations to his 2025 inauguration.

Trump has butted heads with several Fortune 500 company executives over the years, but following his presidential election victory in November, some of those same big-business leaders are dropping major cash on the incoming president's exclusive inaugural festivities.

"In the first term, everyone was fighting me. This time, everyone wants to be my friend," Trump recently said at Mar-a-Lago, according to The Washington Post.

Meta, the world's largest social media network headed by Mark Zuckerberg, suspended Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts in 2021 after the events of Jan. 6 — which Trump called an "insult" to his voters. In his new book, titled "Save America," Trump accused Zuckerberg of "plotting" against him in 2020.

DOJ SEEKS TO BLOCK JAN. 6 DEFENDANTS FROM ATTENDING TRUMP INAUGURATION

"He told me there was nobody like Trump on Facebook. But at the same time, and for whatever reason, steered it against me," Trump wrote. "We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election."

Trump, in his book, also accused Zuckerberg of "always plotting to install shameful Lock Boxes in a true PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT."

However, the relationship appeared to change course as the election drew nearer. After Trump's Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt in July, Zuckerberg said Trump's fist pump in the air after suffering a bullet wound to the ear was "one of the most bada-- things I've ever seen in my life."

Shortly after Trump won the election in November, Zuckerberg met with the incoming president at Mar-a-Lago. Just weeks later, Meta donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund.

JOHNSON ALLIES URGE TRUMP TO INTERVENE AS MESSY SPEAKER BATTLE THREATENS TO DELAY 2024 CERTIFICATION

"Mark Zuckerberg has been very clear about his desire to be a supporter of and a participant in this change that we're seeing all around America, all around the world with this reform movement that Donald Trump is leading," Trump adviser Stephen Miller said during an appearance on "The Ingraham Angle."

Despite a yearlong clash between Amazon's billionaire founder, Jeff Bezos — who also owns The Washington Post — and the incoming president, the e-commerce company recently pledged to donate $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund.

After Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity in 2016 that Amazon was "getting away with murder, tax-wise," Bezos fired back at the then-presidential candidate.

Bezos, appearing at a technology conference, said that Trump's comments were "not an appropriate way for a presidential candidate to behave."

"Washington Post employees want to go on strike because Bezos isn’t paying them enough. I think a really long strike would be a great idea," Trump wrote in another hit at the billionaire on X, then Twitter, in June 2018. "Employees would get more money and we would get rid of Fake News for an extended period of time! Is @WaPo a registered lobbyist?"

The mood appeared to have shifted following the 2024 election, when Bezos said he was "very optimistic" about Trump's regulatory agenda.

"I’m very hopeful — he seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation," Bezos said at the New York Times DealBook Summit. "My point of view is, if I can help him do that, I’m going to help him."

When Ford agreed to make a deal to meet California's efficiency standards, the company defied then-President Trump's plans to push back on the state setting its own green energy standards for automakers.

Trump voiced his opposition to the auto giant's decision, saying that Henry Ford, the company's founder, would be "very disappointed if he saw his modern-day descendants wanting to build a much more expensive car that is far less safe and doesn’t work as well, because execs don’t want to fight California regulators."

Ford, one of the world's largest automakers, recently announced it will be making a seven-figure donation to Trump's inauguration in January.

Other major automakers, such as GM and Toyota, will also make individual donations of $1 million to Trump.

Trump will also receive a $1 million inauguration donation from Intuit, whose stock recently dropped in November after it was reported that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was considering creating a free tax-filing app.

5 SECRETS TO SHOPPING SMARTER ON AMAZON

Another option to keep your gift purchases a secret is to hide or archive your orders on your Amazon account. This will remove them from your default order history view, so they won’t show up when you or someone else checks your recent orders. The following will only work on a desktop or laptop browser (not on a tablet or mobile device).

Even though the item will no longer appear in Your Orders, you can still view it in Archived Orders from Your Account.

If you don’t want to receive any shipment notifications or tracking information for your gift purchases, you can also turn them off on your Amazon account. This will prevent you from getting any emails, texts or push notifications that might reveal your gifts.

To turn off shipment notifications and tracking in Amazon, you can follow these steps:

Now, if you have some real sleuths in your household, you are going to need to do more than just archive your purchases to make sure your gifts are still surprises. You can start by changing your Alexa settings.

Now, Alexa will still notify you when a package is being delivered, but it will not say what the item is.

We all have that one relentless person, determined to find out which presents were purchased this year. Another step to keep them off your tracks is deleting your "Search History."

The following will only work on a desktop or laptop browser (not on a tablet or mobile device).

If you don’t want your gift purchases to be delivered to your home address, you can also use Amazon Locker or Amazon Hub to pick them up at a nearby location. This way, you can avoid having your packages left on your doorstep or seen by anyone else in your household. Amazon Locker and Amazon Hub are secure, self-service kiosks where you can pick up and return your Amazon packages at your convenience.

When purchasing gifts on Amazon, you can utilize the gift options available at checkout. This feature allows you to mark items as gifts, which can help maintain secrecy in several ways.

Gift wrapping: You can choose to have the item gift-wrapped, which not only adds a nice touch but also prevents anyone from seeing the product until it is unwrapped.

Gift message: You can include a personalized message that will be printed on the packing slip, making it clear that it’s a gift and not an ordinary purchase.

No price information: When you select gift options, Amazon typically does not include pricing information on the packing slip, which helps keep the cost of the gift hidden from the recipient.

To use this feature, simply select the "This is a gift" checkbox during checkout and follow the prompts to customize your order accordingly. This added layer of discretion can significantly enhance your ability to keep your purchases under wraps until the big reveal.

Downloading big retailer apps can lead to more savings that cannot be found in stores or online. From Target and Walmart to your local drugstore, many offer secret app-only savings and offers. Retailers are trying to get us to shop more with their own app by combining an app purchase with an in-store pickup that can at times offer additional savings. Look for each app in the official Apple app store and Google Play Store, never from a link or other site.

Cashback shopping apps like Rakuten let you earn cash back when shopping online. According to Rakuten, thousands of retailers participate in the savings.

How it works is simple. Register for free online, then use their app or website while shopping at retailers that offer a commission for sending you to their shopping site.

Rakuten shares a portion of the commission it earns with you. Once you earn enough cash-back savings, you can choose to receive a check, have it paid to your PayPal account or use the American Express rewards program.

Click this link and get a $40 bonus when you spend $40.

I've mentioned this app before. Ibotta is an app that you use for couponing and gives you cash back on items you’re already purchasing at your favorite stores, including grocery stores, food delivery, movie and concert tickets, and more.

Some of the most popular retailers you can find deals with through Ibotta are CVS, Walgreens, Target, Lowe’s, Petco, Domino’s Pizza, REI and more than 1,500 brands and retailers.

If you scroll to the bottom of the app, you’ll see a section called "Special Deals." If you scroll, you’ll see a panel called "Free made easy: All free offers all in one place."

Click this link and use referral code mpiaurm to earn $5 when you submit your first receipt.

Copy the code to insert into the Referral code box on Ibotta "Create account" page: mpiaurm

Discount apps like Flipp aggregate sales fliers and store circulars. All you do is put in your zip code and start browsing for savings from thousands of popular retailers. The Watch List lets you track items from your holiday shopping list. Make sure to create a tight shopping list of each item to track in case prices go down before or after your purchase.

PayPal Honey leads the pack by automatically entering coupon codes into the promo code field when checking out at 5,500+ retail sites.

How it works: You can use the PayPal Honey app directly, but you are better off using it the way it was designed as a browser extension. Once added to your browser, it tracks where you are shopping and applies the best coupon codes without you needing to do anything. Just watch the total price drop as you are checking out when there is a match to a good discount.

The PayPal Honey browser add-on is available on Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Edge browsers. Again, for security, only download directly through your browser and not from a link or email offer.

PayPal paid $4 billion dollars for the automated coupon code technology browser add-on. That's when Honey became PayPal Honey you will find here.

While it has come under fire by Amazon for privacy concerns, upon close examination it does not collect anything more than most other shopping technologies and says it does not resell customer shopping data. Maybe Amazon does not like that it works with Amazon, too, which can drive down prices.

Amazon Warehouse has millions of open boxes, refurbished, renewed and used goods. Few know that retail giant Amazon has a renewed outlet shopping area that can save you when buying items in good-to-like-new condition.

Make sure you get a very good understanding of an item's condition before buying. You are protected by Amazon's policies making it easier to return the rare dud.

BookFinder.com buys and sells used textbooks. Search with your teacher or professor’s textbook ISBN to make sure you are getting the exact match. Watch that you have thoroughly checked the condition of any used textbook before pulling the trigger at checkout. Avoid textbooks that say there are notations on the various pages, as these may not be the notes that earn you a good grade.

You can buy discounted gift cards or sell unwanted gift cards for cash. I also recommend that you check the balance and expiration date of your gift cards before using them and use them as soon as possible to avoid losing them or forgetting about them. Check out the best way to buy gift cards ever by clicking here.

Set Deal Alerts at Slickdeals.net. This community of millions of fellow shoppers is looking for and sharing the best deals. When the price reaches a desired level, you'll receive a notification so you don't miss the deal.

Pro tip: I like to track larger dollar items and then create a calendar entry in my phone reminding me of the last day to reprice a purchase so that I can potentially get money back when the price goes down after the sale.

Make sure it's a deal by using price tracking sites like Camelcamelcamel.com, which shows the history of sale prices.
